Home Remedies for Smoker’s Lips

Cigarettes contain nicotine, which is the ingredient in cigarettes attributing to darkening or staining of the lips when smoking. The lips lose their natural pink color and darken, which is also called smoker’s lips. Smoking can also cause wrinkles in upper lips. The first thing you should do to bring the color back or reduce darkening is to discontinue the smoking habit. There are natural home remedies that have proven effective for many and all it takes is patience and time for the changes to start showing

1. Berries

Berries such as raspberries and strawberries can also be used to get rid of the black lips problem. Take some honey, berries and some aloe Vera juice and make a paste. Apply the mixture to your dark lips and leave them for 5 minutes. Rinse the mixture off then apply some lip-balm. Raspberries are also known to contain vital vitamin and minerals that are needed to keep the lips vibrant and healthy

2. Glycerin, Honey and Lime Juice Mixture

Make a mixture of lime juice, honey and glycerin then apply it to your lips each night before bed. You can alternatively make a mixture of glycerin and crushed petals to lighten your lips. Rose petals are effective in removing the tinge on your lips caused by smoking.
